NBA fines Tony Allen $5,000 for flopping

May 19, 2013; San Antonio, TX, USA; Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Tony Allen (9) loses control of the ball during the third quarter against the San Antonio Spurs in game one of the Western Conference finals of the 2013 NBA Playoffs at AT

In case you missed it, Tony Allen took what was ruled a flagrant foul from Manu Ginobili in transition with 26.1 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Allen hit both free throws and the Grizz went on to force overtime.

Turns out the league felt he may have slight exaggerated his injury, stiffs.

First of all, the acting gigs Allen is going to land this summer will be well worth the $5,000 dollars. Second, this could actually be the greatest flop in NBA history, which should be commended – not punished. But whatever.

Allen will also be matching all donations given in games three and four at the FedExForum for tornado victims in Oklahoma. Tell me this guy isn’t awesome.
