On Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley left the game with what appeared to be a pretty significant right ankle injury. But after the game, Conley said:
“I can put weight on it now. Tomorrow is looking iffy, but hopefully after some treatment tonight and the next day we will go from there.”
He also took to twitter after the game tweeting:
“Thank you for all the support! Hopefully just a minor setback! Huge win regardless though. #GrizzNation #gng #warrior”
As of right now, the status on Conley is that he is day-to-day, but could be out for a little while. The good news of course is that he didn’t break the ankle or experience a setback that puts him out for several weeks. The Grizzlies are a tough bunch, and they can survive without him for a few games, but not for a few weeks. The fact that he’ll be back within a few days is great news for the Grizzlies, who really are starting to pick up serious steam. Don’t expect him to play tonight against the Bucks, but given how poorly the Bucks are playing, the Grizzlies still should walk away with a win even without Conley.
