Memphis Grizzlies Shooting Guard Tony Allen has averaged 11.4 PPG on 70.3% shooting since his return to the lineup.
After missing 21 games with a hand injury, The Grindfather finally returned to action last week and helped the Grizzlies seal a 102-96 over the rival Los Angeles Clippers.
Since returning to the bench for the Grizzlies, Allen has averaged 22.2 minutes and has provided that much needed spark the team missed in his absence.
The Grizzlies have gone 3-2 since Allen’s return with all the wins coming at home. Barring any injury from Courtney Lee in the foreseeable future, Allen will likely find his home coming off the bench the remainder of the season. This may be the best option for the Grizzlies since Lee has provided such an offensive spark since coming over from Boston.
The Grizzlies trail Phoenix by one game in the playoff race and have 24 games remaining. Allen’s defensive prowess and offensive spark off the bench will surely help the Grizzlies compete for one of the final playoff spots in the stretch run.
