One day after blowing a 22 point lead to the Phoenix Suns, the Minnesota Timberwolves went into Memphis and were demolished 109-92. The Grizzlies shot 52.7% from the field and 50% from distance.

Mike Conley was phenomenal again for the Grizzlies scoring 23 points (9-12 fg), hauling in 5 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists in the process. Zach Randolph hit his 1st three of the season mid way thru the 3rd quarter.

Both teams started out slow. Memphis hit 3 of its first 14 shots while Minnesota hit 1 of its first 10. The Grizzlies were the ones to get hot midway thru the 1st quarter and led 30-15 heading into the 2nd.

The Grizzlies did a tremendous job on Minnesota PF Kevin Love holding him to 16 points (6-18 fg). Love had 55 double-double games heading into tonight’s contest vs. Memphis. Love averages 26.7 points per game during the 2013-2014 season.

After tonight’s win, the Grizzlies moved into sole possession of 7th place in the West. They sit currently a half game ahead of Dallas and Phoenix in the Western Conference standings. The Grizzlies moved to 42-28 on the season while Minnesota fell to 34-35.

The Grizzlies head out on a 5 game road trip which will start with Utah on Wednesday night. That game can be seen on ESPN.
