Zach Randolph gets suspended for Game 7 for punching Steven Adams

The Grizzlies’ chances of winning Game 7 just dropped dramatically once the NBA announced that Zach Randolph has been suspended for Game 7 against the Thunder for punching Steven Adams in Game 6. This suspension along with Mike Conley’s bum hamstring really makes things tough for the Grizzlies to win Game 7 tomorrow night. It’ll be interesting to see what Dave Joerger does to his lineup tomorrow night. Does he simply give Ed Davis and Kosta Koufos more minutes or does he go small and use Mike Miller, Courtney Lee, and Tony Allen more? I suspect Koufos to get a lot more minutes and Davis to see an increase in his minutes as well. Neither of these guys has gotten a lot of minutes in this series, so both guys will be fresh and should have a lot of energy. As for what the Grizzlies need to do to win Game 7, they need Marc Gasol to have a big game and they also need Mike Miller and Courtney Lee to both get rolling from beyond the arc. If those guys catch fire and if Gasol has a big game, there’s hope. Tony Allen will still be out there bugging Kevin Durant, and Mike Conley could still have an effective night. Things look grim for the Grizzlies no doubt, but there are things that Dave Joerger can do to adjust to this suspension and still give the Grizzlies a shot at winning.
