Grizzlies point guard Nick Calathes‘ season ended on a sour note after he got banned for 20 games due to a failed drug test. However, that isn’t stopping other teams from going after him. According to Sportando, Greek club Panathinaikos and Russian club CSKA Moscow are both interested in Calathes and are each offering him 3 year, $6.5M deals. I personally like what Calathes did for the Grizzlies and I hope he comes back to the team. Starting point guard Mike Conley needs a solid back up and Calathes did a solid job. However, the money that both teams are offering him is pretty good, so perhaps Calathes will opt out and return to Europe. It’ll be interesting to see what Calathes does and whether or not his suspension plays a role in his decision.
