Mike Miller has been an important player during his tenure in Memphis, and now he has an important question to ask himself: What’s next? Miller is currently an unrestricted free agent and can sign wherever he chooses. It may seem like it’s a difficult choice for him at this juncture of his career, but Miller appears to have an idea as to where he wants to be. According to Erik Thorstenson:
With this season in the books Miller has a big decision on his hand. Come July 1st, Miller will have the opportunity to begin contract talks with any team he like, but Miller admits that he wouldn’t mind staying in Memphis.
“It would be fitting for me. I have had six great years there. My relationship with the community is great. It would really be a great ending,” Miller said. “But, come July there will be a lot of interesting moves I’ll have to make. Have to see where it all fits.”
No matter where the 14-year veteran does sign next year, he realizes he is reaching the twilight years of his career and must start think of life after he retires.
“Coaching would be alright. The one good thing about me is, I have seen every situation in the books. Coaching or running a team would be a good fit for me.
That time isn’t here yet though, Miller is adamant he can play in the NBA for at least another three or four seasons.
