The Grizzlies have reportedly expressed interest in former Pelicans point guard Brian Roberts.
Roberts is coming off of a decent year while scoring 9.4 points per game. He can score reasonably well, but he is relatively inefficient as he only shot 42% from the floor last season. Although he isn’t turnover prone, as he only had 1.3 while averaging 23.2 minutes per game.
Signing Roberts wouldn’t necessarily be a bad signing, but I feel that there are better options out there. He shouldn’t command a big contract, but given the way role players have been paid by other teams this off-season (see Channing Frye and Jodie Meeks), it’s hard to say. Although the Grizzlies have seemed to be interested in Roberts, I think they might be best served to look at other options first.
