Robert Pera to officially introduce front office additions

New look Grizzlies’ front office to be introduced

Robert Pera will hold a press conference to introduce the new additions to the Grizzlies’ front office on August 1st, at 11 am CT.  There has been a lot of turnover within the organization, but things have settled down with most of the holes being filled.

According to the Grizzlies’ official website:

Memphis Grizzlies Controlling Owner Robert Pera will introduce General Manager Chris Wallace and Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Ed Stefanski at a press conference on Friday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. (CT) in the Don Poier Media Center at FedExForum. Head Coach Dave Joerger will also be on-hand to discuss the coaching staff and player development additions.

Although it appears that only GM Chris Wallace and Vice President of Player Personnel Ed Stefanski will be introduced, there have been other hires by the Grizzlies as well.

Jeff Bzdelik, former NBA and college coach, will join the Grizzlies coaching staff as an assistant.  Bzdelik highlighted the additions to the coaching staff, but their were others as well.  The Grizzlies’ official website cites:

Jeff Bzdelik (BIZ-del-ik), who has over 30 years of coaching experience, including 17 in the NBA, has joined Dave Joerger’s staff as an assistant coach. John Townsend, who previously served as shooting coach for the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers, has joined the staff as director of player development. The Grizzlies also added Trevor Moawad, a recognized expert in the field of mental conditioning who has led mental endurance programs for the University of Alabama and Florida State football teams, as mental endurance coach.

This press conference will signify the end of a period of tumultuous front office turnover, and give the Grizz some much needed stability.  The player roster has also been shored up, and things look to be falling nicely into place for the Grizzlies.
