Iowa Energy: Grizzlies' D-League affiliate names head coach

The Iowa Energy have officially named Bob Donewald Jr. as their head coach according to a report:

The Memphis Grizzlies announced Bob Donewald Jr. as head coach of its NBA Development League team.

“Bob has a proven track record of player development and shares in the collaborative vision of the Memphis Grizzlies and Iowa Energy,” Grizzlies Head Coach Dave Joerger said in a press release. “He is a tireless worker and effective communicator who will be important in helping our players reach their potential as we begin our new partnership with Iowa.”

He has been a coach for more than two decades with eight different organizations throughout the world.

He most recently served as the head coach of the Chinese national team from 2010 to 2012.

The Energy are the Grizzlies D-League affiliate, and just recently became exclusively associated with one another.

Memphis will work closely with coach Donewald and hopefully find a gem that could be called up to the NBA one day.
