Memphis Grizzlies waive guard Jamaal Franklin

JamaalFranklinAfter being taken 41st overall in the 2012 NBA Draft, Jamaal Franklin has been waived by the Memphis Grizzlies. The 6’5″ guard appeared in 21 games for Memphis during the 2013-2014 season.

Franklin averaged 7.7 minutes, 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in the 2013-2014 season. This seems to be a good move by the Grizzlies since they’re already stacked at the guard position.

After Franklin’s release, the Grizzlies are left with Courtney Lee, Tony Allen and rookie Jordan Adams at the shooting guard position.

The Grizzlies tip off the 2014-2015 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home on October 29th.
