‘Beale Street Bears’ takes a look at Jordan Adam’s rookie season for the 2014-15 Memphis Grizzlies and grades his performance.

The Memphis Grizzlies had a successful 2014-15 season, although they ultimately fell short of their No. 1 goal: winning their first NBA World Championship. Injuries severely hurt their chances, but despite the ups and downs, there is a lot to enjoy about the Grizzlies’ future.

This all begins with their youth.

Grizz Nation did not see a lot of playing time from any of the Memphis Grizzlies’ rookies in the regular season or NBA Playoffs–even their 2014 first round NBA Draft selection, Jordan Adams. While Adams spent a great deal of his rookie year in the D-League, he impressed with the Iowa Energy as well as his sparing minutes with the Grizzlies. It has left Grizz fans wanting

A couple of the writers at ‘Beale Street Bears‘ have put their thoughts together to assess Jordan Adams and his rookie season in a Memphis Grizzlies’ uniform. Check out our thoughts below and feel free to comment on whether you agree or disagree with us. We enjoy hearing your opinions!

Grade: B

Assessment: “It’s hard to know what grade to give Jordan Adams since he didn’t play a whole lot of minutes, but in the minutes he did play he seemed to be fairly effective. He shot 40% from three-point range, which is exactly why he was drafted. His free-throw shooting needs improvement, as it was just 60.9%. But given that he was a rookie and proved he could do what the Grizzlies drafted him to do, I give him a solid B.”

Assessment: “Although I really liked what I saw from Jordan Adams in his limited NBA minutes, it was not enough for me to give him a full evaluation. It would not be fair to Adams. From what I saw, I would give him no lower than a B or B+. I really believe that by the second half of next season, assuming he sees a major minutes increase from his rookie year, Grizz Nation will be able to say that he is exactly what the Memphis Grizzlies needed in the 2014-15 season when they had true title hopes.

Jordan seems to have the potential to be a solid defender at the shooting guard position while having a greater three-point shot than I expected him to own once he was drafted by Memphis. I also praise JA for his ability and fearlessness to attack the basket at all costs. He looks to be a pure scorer–and an effective playmaker– and this is something that ranks at the top of the Memphis Grizzlies’ list of needs to complete their bench.”
