With under 24 hours until the 2015 NBA Draft, which players are highlighted on the Memphis Grizzlies’ shrinking list of favorite prospects?

Thursday is officially Draft Day. NBA fans become so excited for this particular day each and every year that it has nearly become a national holiday in the United States. Between trades, movement rumors, and new youthful faces, there is a lot to keep up with every time the NBA Draft rolls around.

Okay, Grizz Nation. Let us catch you up to speed with the latest Draft news surrounding your Memphis Grizzlies.

The Memphis Grizzlies may have given a Draft “promise” to LSU’s Jarell Martin. Martin is a combo forward that has seen his Draft stock on the rise over the past few days. He has all the makings to be a real steal if selected in the 20s.

Check out this DraftExpress video for a full scouting report on Jarell Martin.

While there have been conflicting reports of the Grizzlies’ possible guarantee to Martin, they still held an additional–and individual–pre-Draft workout with Virginia’s Justin Anderson.

Looking for additional footage of Justin Anderson? Thanks to DraftExpress, here is a very helpful scouting video of the UVA product.

What other prospects might the Memphis Grizzlies be strongly considering at the 25th overall selection?

For starters, there has been a lot. It has been very difficult to decipher what position the Grizz have been targeting and in reality, they have not been targeting any one position specifically. Worthy of a mention is this nugget of information that popped up today:

I will say this: although the Grizzlies only own the lone pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, I highly believe they will 1) be active in trade discussions throughout the evening and 2) move into the second round via trade/purchase.

Memphis has seemed–to me, at least–to be highly infatuated with multiple prospects in several various talent tiers throughout this pre-Draft workout process. The club has multiple glaring needs–even to complete their bench–that can potentially be fulfilled via this Draft class.

The Memphis Grizzlies’ Draft Board, in my opinion, must look like this at the current time:

  1. Jarell Martin — LSU — 6’10” — 236 lbs. — Forward
  2. Justin Anderson — Virginia — 6’6″ — 227 lbs. — Guard
  3. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson — Arizona — 6’7″ — 215 lbs. — Forward — Video
  4. Montrezl Harrell — Louisville — 6’8″ — 235 lbs. — Forward — Video
  5. Christian Wood — UNLV — 6’11” — 220 lbs. — Forward — Video
  6. Rashad Vaughn — UNLV — 6’6″ — 210 lbs. — Guard — Video

Based on the bits of info leaked on Wednesday regarding last-minute workouts and in relation to area of emphasis that the team must address this offseason, I truly believe these are the top six guys the Grizzlies have on their NBA Draft Board. Players always slip in the Draft and this list can and will change as the evening moves along tomorrow (Thursday), but these should be the initial targets that Grizz Nation can count on being available.
