Memphis Grizzlies to Introduce Matt Barnes on 7/28/15

The Memphis Grizzlies are set to introduce Matt Barnes at a press conference on Tuesday, July 28th, 2015.

Grizz Nation has not heard much of anything from Matt Barnes since the trade was made to ship him to Memphis.

That changed somewhat last week when Barnes spent a day at the studios of ESPN to answer questions on daytime television programs–which of course generated a lot of hubbub.

Matt Barnes is known for his mean streak. He will fit nicely into the Memphis Grizzlies’ grit-‘n’-grind style of basketball. He likes to agitate opponents and get underneath their skin. For these reasons, Grizz fans should love this addition to the squad, even though Barnes was one of the most hated opponents not long ago.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced today (Monday, July 27th) that they will be hosting an introductory press conference for Matt Barnes at FedEx Forum on Tuesday. Further details were made known in this tweet of theirs on the team’s official Twitter account:

Off of the court when he was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, MB was pretty good friends with a couple current Grizz players, most notably Zach Randolph. Still, how will Matt adjust to changing sides from evil to good? Will there be bad blood that will need to be swept out of the way prior to the start of the 2015-16 NBA season?

Grizz Nation should be getting exact answers to these questions tomorrow when Matt Barnes speaks to the media. It will be interesting to see what type of response from Grizzlies fans he will receive tomorrow as well as in preseason and on Opening Night. There is no exaggeration of how much the swingman was loathed in Memphis when he was wearing a Clips uniform.

Relax, Grizz Nation. He is on our side now.

Matt Barnes could very well be the final piece to the Memphis Grizzlies’ championship recipe. It is time to embrace his presence in M-Town–donning a Grizz uniform.
