The Memphis Grizzlies ended a six-game road trip with a 4-2 record. Before they battle the Spurs and the Warriors, there’s something I need to get off my chest.

Dear Miami Heat:

Seeing your team win is nice and all. Heck, Miami is the place where Dave Fizdale made his name.

I feel bad for your organization as well. First, LeBron promises “not four, not five, not six” rings, then bolts back home after losing to the Spurs. Long-time Miami icon Dwyane Wade left gorgeous weather for cold winters. Then, Chris Bosh may not play another game ever again.

I feel bad for the struggles you’ve endured.

However, despite all such things, please do us a favor and go back to losing.

I’ll admit that seeing your team win is fun and all. “Waiters Island” truly exists and is one of the most entertaining things in the league. Hassan Whiteside is making us look foolish for releasing him, yet again (you’re welcome, by the way).

Those things, aside, I need your team to start losing, because we have your second-round draft pick.

Not even a month ago, the Memphis Grizzlies were destined to have a high second-round pick. Do you want to know who’s in that range? Grayson Allen. Luke Kennard. Josh Hart. Just to name a few.

Now, we’ll be lucky to have a pick in the 30-39 range.

You may call us foolish, but that’s okay. I know you have aspirations for getting swept by the Cavaliers …

I mean, the playoffs. Yeah, you guys have playoff aspirations.

However, just think, you need to focus on the bigger picture. Like Lonzo Ball! Or Dennis Smith! Or Markelle Fultz!

Can you acquire those players if you make it to the playoffs?

Nope.

So, on behalf of the Memphis Grizzlies, could you just stop winning and go back to losing? I mean, we did give your team Hassan Whiteside.
