The Memphis Grizzlies came out with a 130-112 win over the Phoenix Suns that not only included basketball but also some elbows from Vince Carter.

Let’s just get right into it.

Devin Booker is officially on the Memphis Hit List. We can all agree on that.

Early in the first quarter, Booker got right back into it with the Grizzlies.

Booker fouled Carter and that’s when things took a turn. Carter kept driving to the basket ,and Booker decided to keep moving along with him and … BAM!

A Vince Carter elbow to the jaw.

Sadly, Vince Carter got thrown out the game. But hey Vince, Grizz Nation thought it was well worth it.

Booker may have flopped a bit, but everybody does, right? We just hate it a little bit more when Booker does it.

Here’s the video if you did not get a chance to see it last night:

Moral of the story: Devin Booker, respect your daddy.

Basketball Stuff

To start, the Grizzlies came out with much better energy in this game.

They didn’t look sluggish and gave the Phoenix Suns proper respect. The Grizzlies are notorious for allowing teams they’re clearly better than to take advantage of them.

Now isn’t the time for that. Only two games separate the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder for the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

Last night, the Grizzlies didn’t allow the Suns to embarrass them in front of the home crowd. Though it was 56-55 at halftime, the Grizz took off in the second half.

Their shooting was firing on all cylinders tonight. The squad ended the night 56 percent from the field and 48 percent (12-for-25) from the 3-point line.

The Memphis Grizzlies scored a total of 38 points in the third quarter, the third-most points in a quarter in team history.

Also, the Grizzlies scored 75 second-half points which is the third-most points in a half in franchise history.

They also scored a season-high 130 points, the most in a single game since 2010.

Players of the Night

Mike Conley, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph are establishing themselves as the big three on this team. Last night, they combined for a total of 80 points.

That is something serious.

Mike Conley continues to play at an All-Star level as he concluded the night with 29 points and eight assists. He was just one point away from his seventh 30th point game of the season.

Marc Gasol scored 28 points and made all five of his 3-point attempts, becoming only center in NBA history to accomplish such feat. Pretty neat.

Z-Bo continues to dominate as he ended the night with 23 points and eight rebounds.

These core group of veterans realize that now is the time step up their games, and their play will be a huge part in the Grizzlies’ quest for home-court advantage in the playoffs.

What’s next for the Memphis Grizzlies?

The Grizzlies have a couple days off before they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks Friday night.

Saturday night, the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Houston Rockets and their newest addition Lou Williams.
