6. San Antonio Spurs

The defending NBA Champs are finally getting back on track. At 34-19, the San Antonio Spurs are just two games out of third in the Western Conference. Currently embarking on a nine game road swing, the Spurs are coming off back to back wins against Indiana and Detroit.

The schedule doesn’t get any easier coming out of the All-Star break, as they head on over to the west coast. A matchup with the Western Conference leading Golden State Warriors is just under a week away.

The Spurs are an aging team, and eventually it will hurt their chances of making a deep playoff run. Even after coming off the NBA title win over the Miami Heat in five games last year, it’s hard to root against a Greg Poppovich coached team in a seven game series.

One could compare the Spurs’ to the fly that haunted Walter White in Breaking Bad. No matter how hard you try to rid of them, they just won’t go away.

The Spurs’ are primed to make a third consecutive NBA Finals appearance. With a healthy roster, you could label them as the most dangerous team in the Western Conference.

Prediction: 51-31

Next three: @ Los Angles Clippers, @ Golden State, @ Utah
