On Friday, the Memphis Grizzlies held their first group of pre-draft workouts of NBA hopefuls.

The Memphis Grizzlies are gearing for the 2015 NBA Draft by beginning their annual routine of conducting numerous sets of pre-draft workouts of prospects that they could potentially select on June 25th.

Looking for the list of players that took part in today’s first workouts at the FedEx Forum? Look no further.

  • Chris Walker, forward (Florida)
  • Aaron Thomas, guard (Florida State)
  • Josh Richardson, guard (Tennessee)
  • Pat Connaughton, guard (Notre Dame)
  • Brandon Ashley, forward (Arizona)
  • Ky Madden, guard (Arkansas)

The Memphis Grizzlies’ Head Coach, Dave Joerger, had some insightful words today as he instructed some of the workouts for the day, which you can see below from Rob Fischer, the Grizzlies’ Sideline Reporter.

After taking a look at the latest mock drafts from DraftExpress and NBADraft.Net, you have to wonder if perhaps the Memphis Grizzlies will attempt to trade for a second round pick. Each team always brings in a high quantity of players to look over throughout all of these pre-draft workouts, but it did seem as if the Grizzlies became intrigued by the effort, hustle, and potential of a couple of today’s “interviewees.”

Although DraftExpress and NBADraft.Net do not currently have Pat Connaughton in their top-60 picks, I have been seeing a lot of positive talk surrounding his draft stock. I could see him making a jump up the board in the coming weeks leading up to the NBA Draft. Out of this initial group of prospects, only Brandon Ashley made one of these two mock drafts–NBADraft.Net’s at selection No. 51 overall.
