The Memphis Grizzlies conducted another group of pre-Draft workouts on Tuesday, June 9th as they sift through NBA hopefuls.
The Memphis Grizzlies have continued to bring in prospects that are looking to hear their name called in June 25th’s NBA Draft. Today, June 9th, saw the Grizzlies bring in the following NBA hopefuls:
- Rakeem Christmas — forward (Syracuse)
- Jarell Martin — forward (LSU)
- Michael Frazier — guard (Florida)
- Olivier Hanlan — guard (Boston College)
- Tyler Haws — guard (BYU)
Overall, no big names in this group. There is still a long ways to the “getting serious” parts of analysis for the Memphis Grizzlies’ Front Office when it comes to their 25th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft. Basically, there is still a lot of water to flow under the bridge. Names will be thrown around and rumors are sure to fly.
While we–as Grizz Nation–sift through these pre-Draft workouts and all of the possible names that we may hear the Grizzlies select at #25 on June 25th, a lot more in-depth information is learned about these prospects. Most names the Memphis Grizzlies have brought into the Grindhouse for workouts have been seldom heard, unless you are a major college basketball fanatic.
From this June 9th group, though there have been no top-tier names, Rakeem Christmas sticks out to me. He is an energetic player–as are most Syracuse products. He is a big body that I believe can grit away in the paint on both ends of the floor. He will need a while to develop, but he could be a decent find in the second round. I would still not be surprised if the Memphis Grizzlies trade for at least one second round pick due to all of the potential second round talent they have been scouting.
