The Memphis Grizzlies are in full offseason mode and the franchise, along with its players, are putting on youth basketball camps across the Midwest.
The offseason is in full swing for the Memphis Grizzlies and all their players. That means that it is time to reach into the community and demonstrate why the Grizz are one of the top professional sports franchises when it comes to community outreach and youth development.
Many Grizz players are actively involved with creating their own individual basketball camps–even in areas and regions far away from Memphis. Tony Allen, Kosta Koufos, and Russ Smith are three of the most notable players, thus far into the summer, that have already scheduled camps for kids.
Koufos held a camp in Ohio very early into the offseason. Below are some photos of him with the participants.
Allen, a member of the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team, typically holds a youth camp each summer. Here is information regarding his 2015 sessions:
Grizz newcomer and soon-to-be sophomore NBA player, Russ Smith, is heading back to his collegiate ties by hosting his camp in the city of Louisville, Kentucky. He recently held a youth basketball camp with college teammate Peyton Siva. Smith will be doing a similar session, although individually, later this summer.
If you happen to be a Memphis Grizzlies’ fan living in Kentucky and you have children (or know of some that would like to attend), below is info on “Camp ‘Russdiculous.'”
Now for the best part of this summer’s youth camp news!
The Memphis Grizzlies posted this bit of information on their website regarding the camps the organization will be hosting in and around the Memphis, Tennessee area:
"All kids ages 7-16 are invited to learn from the Pros this summer during the Grizzlies Basketball Camp series. Each session costs just $245 and will take place from 9am until 4pm.Camps include:Camp instruction, skills and drills, lunch, t-shirt and two vouchers for Grizzlies game ticket vouchers. Plus, additional tickets to select Grizzlies games will be available for purchase at a discounted rate for all Summer Basketball Day Camp participants and their families."

This is a great way for children to get in touch with their basketball skills and game development from a young age. What better way to do so than to learn from the Memphis Grizzlies?!
If you have a minute, take a look at all of the camps. Hopefully one is right for you and your children, Grizz Nation!
