Shooting Guard
Shooting Guard is perhaps the most crowded position on the Memphis Grizzlies roster. The Grizzlies’ have two very capable starters in Courtney Lee and Tony Allen who provide a different set of skills when on the floor.
Lee started the majority of the games at shooting guard for Memphis this past season. The 6′ 5″ guard averaged 10.1 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, but sported a mediocre 11.51 PER.
Lee, who is considered a sharpshooter averaged nearly 50 percent from 3-point range when the Grizzlies’ won this past season. He shot a less-than-stellar 27 percent in losses.
Allen was named to the All-Defensive 1st Team this past season. He is perhaps the most disruptive perimeter defender in the NBA and helped guide the Grizzlies’ to a 2-1 series lead over the Golden State Warriors in the postseason before getting injured.
The Grizzlies’ also have sophomore Jordan Adams and long time veteran Vince Carter coming off the bench at shooting guard.
