After letting Nick Calathes go, one would think that the Memphis Grizzlies wouldn’t be interested in adding another point guard with Mike Conley, Beno Udrih, and Russ Smith already on the roster. However, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that a fourth point guard will be joining the team for training camp.
The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed with free agent PG Lazeric Jones on a non-guaranteed deal, source tells Yahoo. Jones out of UCLA in 2012.

Lazeric Jones declared for the 2012 NBA Draft after his sophomore season at UCLA and he went undrafted. Judging by his statistics, it’s no shock that he went undrafted. But after spending some time overseas, he appears to have improved his game and is now worthy of a training camp spot.
Whether or not he’s good enough to make an NBA roster remains to be seen, but even if he is, I have a hard time seeing the Grizzlies use up their 15th regular season roster spot on a fourth point guard with no NBA experience. Jones will really have to shine in training camp to prove me wrong.
