3. Los Angeles Clippers

Overview:

The “Lob City” era will be making, yet, another run. With Blake Griffin and Chris Paul set to be free agents next offseason, they must prove to be legitimate title contenders. To surround their star-studded trio, the Clippers re-signed Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers and Wes Johnson. They also acquired Brandon Bass and Marreesse Speights to bolster their front-court depth.

Why the Memphis Grizzlies Could Win:

Small Forward

Chandler Parsons has to face either Wes Johnson, Luc Mbah a Moute or Paul Pierce when the Grizzlies square up against the Clippers. He should have an absolute field day on the offensive end. If he can have an explosive offensive output, the Grizzlies will make the Clippers’ night a rough one.

Why the Memphis Grizzlies Could Struggle:

Lob City

If the Clippers live up to their “Lob City” mantra, the Memphis Grizzlies will have difficulty protecting the rim. The Grizzlies must force Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan to play below the rim. If they can minimize alley oops and fast breaks, the Clippers’ athletic front-court will have issues.

Projected Record: 55-27
