Ultimate Power

The Empire is formidable. There is no doubt that they possess all the power in the NBA currently. Vegas is projecting 66 wins, but several people think that they can surpass their all-time best record of 73 from last season. Overcoming them in the Western Conference Finals would definitely equate to taking down the Death Star.

Kevin Durant was supposed to destroy the Warriors, not join them, but after blowing a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals last year, he did just that. After making an unpopular decision, Durant gives the Warriors another generational talent and allows them to have two of the top three players in the league on one team. I guess the dark side is easier and more seductive.

Memphis matches up against the Warriors. As Taylor Buckley mentions in this article, the Grizzlies are capable of guarding Golden State well and have the right personnel to throw off their shooting. Obviously, there will have to be some luck involved, but the Memphis Grizzlies are fully capable of finding that exhaust port, no matter how small, and hitting it.
