A-. Tonight gave us another veteran performance that must be talked about. A man whose offensive game the last few years can be summed up with “jab step to mid-range shot, bully for the layup, offensive rebounds” just went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc, scoring 17 points with just field goal makes from within the 3-point line. There have been rumors of Zbo playing better at center than at power forward, being willing to come off the bench, liking the direction Fizdale is taking the team, etc. But tonight Randolph really put his money where his mouth is. There’s a lot to be excited about for this upcoming season, and seeing how Zach Randolph evolves his game next just made the list. Randolph also grabbed eight boards, but I’m robbing him of the “A+” because he also picked up four fouls and still has trouble closing out on perimeter shooters. Zach Randolph can ball.. forward.
