C-. The rookie point guard continued his shooting woes tonight, ending with an abysmal 1-for-8, but he did look impressive getting teammates involved with three assists and grabbing two steals when his man tried to thread the needle for a bullet pass inside and instead found the ball in Wade’s hands, leading a fast break. Finishing in the NBA is much harder than in college, and Baldwin is certainly being met with resistance inside, but his flashes of athleticism make his upside seems worth taking the time to develop. Under the supervision of seasoned point guard Mike Conley and developmental Coach Fizdale, there could be a future in the NBA for the kid. I’m certainly not writing him off after a few shaky preseason performances. I still agree that Wade Baldwin is the answer for the Grizzlies’ backup point situation.. guard. Memphis Grizzlies.
