Fresh off reestablishing their dominance against MVP candidate, Anthony Davis, and the New Orleans Pelicans, the Memphis Grizzlies look to keep things rolling. In a match-up with the high-flying Clippers, Memphis will look to keep them grounded.

Friday night, the Memphis Grizzlies will welcome the L.A. Clippers to the raucous FedEx Forum, hoping to hand them their second straight loss. Memphis, coming off an overtime win against New Orleans, hopes to win this one in regulation.

With Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan coming into town, Marc Gasol & Co. look to have their hands full again. But if what happened to Davis on Wednesday is any indication of how the Grizz will defend Blake Griffin and Jordan, the Clippers will be in for a long night.

Clippers’ Gameplan

Coming off their loss to Russell Westbrook—he scored almost half of the Thunders’ points Wednesday—they’ll look to rebound with a win against the Grizzlies.

Watch for the Clippers to try and get J.J. Redick going early, he’s only shooting 39 percent from the field and 31 percent from 3. The Clippers are much more potent an offense when Redick is shooting lights out.

The Clippers bench, led by Austin Rivers, should also be a factor Friday night. In every Clippers game this season, the bench has done a remarkable job. Not only can they score in multiple ways, but its defense has been fantastic. Look for the lineup of Jamal Crawford, Raymond Felton, Wesley Johnson, Austin Rivers and Marreese Speights to add to their team leading +7.3 +/-.

Grizzlies’ Gameplan

If the Memphis Grizzlies want to win this game, they have to throw everything they can at Blake Griffin. JaMychal Green did a stellar job Wednesday defending Davis, Fizdale should give him every chance to do the same with Griffin.

Part of the Memphis Grizzlies’ success so far this season has been the 3-point shot. In both of the teams losses so far, they’ve shot less that 37 percent from 3. The Grizz should look for every chance to get clean, open, looks from beyond the arc.

Defense will be a big key for the Grizz again if they look to win. In the three Memphis wins this season, limiting the opponents’ 3-point scoring chances has made a big difference. In the wins, they held opponents to just 29 percent from deep. With the Clippers weapons from behind the arc, Redick, Mo Buckets, and CP3, limiting those chance will be key.
