Over the course of the All-Star break, we’ll review the Memphis Grizzlies by player. Deyonta Davis has yet to find his niche in the rotation, but has showed promise in limited minutes.

Deyonta Davis hasn’t yet been awarded consistent minutes by Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale, and has only played five games for the Grizzlies D-league affiliate, the Iowa Energy. Davis has spent significantly less time with the Energy than his young teammates Wade Baldwin and Jarell Martin, which makes it difficult to evaluate his play so far.

However, Davis has shown a wealth of potential as a rebounder and defender when given the opportunity. Considering the more than successful return of Brandan Wright, it seems unlikely that Davis will see anymore NBA action this season, but he should inherit a great deal of playing time moving forward with the Energy.

All-Star weekend is officially underway, which means no Grizzlies basketball for almost a week. Since we have a break, let’s evaluate Davis and his play so far.
