Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Break Player Reviews: Zach Randolph
By Ryan Schmitz
Best Game: 01/06 – Golden State Warriors
Zach Randolph may have had games with more points or rebounds, but anyone who watched this game knew the relevance of it and the contribution that Randolph put forward.
Randolph finished with 27 points on 12-for-17 shooting and made both of his free-throw attempts. He also finished with eleven rebounds and a season-high six assists. One of his most complete games of his career, and it couldn’t have come against a better opponent.
If you don’t remember this game, let me give you a quick reminder onto why it has more significance against the rest. The Grizzlies were down by over 20 points and started the fourth down 19 to the presumed 2017 NBA Champions with four All-Stars. The fact that they came back and won in overtime was not only crazy to think about, but crazier to see live.
Randolph’s stat line in this game showed how important he was to the comeback. Another significant stat is the six rebounds that he grabbed in the fourth.
His experience proved valuable, and this is why he will be an integral part of the team’s playoff chances.
