With the majority of the division making moves to help their playoff chances, the Grizzlies decided to stand pat. Guys like Toney Douglas are the Key.

Houston, Dallas and New Orleans all decided that, in one way or another, their teams sucked.

Seems weird since two of them are potential playoff teams.

Actually, two of them ARE playoff teams. Don’t kid yourself, New Orleans is getting in.

Back to what i was saying. Those three decided that their team isn’t enough. So they did what every sucky team is supposed to do, add a “meh” player to their lineup, hoping that takes them to the next level.

Except New Orleans. They added Boogie Cousins, arguably the best Center in the league. Cousins is far from a “Meh” player, even if he has a “meh” attitude at times.

Memphis, on the other hand, took the “Losers make trades, winners stay put” approach. Actually, they even took it one step further by signing Toney Douglas through the remainder of the season.

Fun fact: Grizzlies are 11-3 when Douglas plays.

Douglas along with having a healthy Brandan Wright back are actually like trades in their own right. Douglas gives the team terrific backup PG play. He has great court vision and plays solid defense. Wright is just an incredible athlete in the post. Athletic big men off the bench are hard to come by, and Wright may be the most athletic of the bunch.

Also the resident swag doctor himself, Chandler Parsons, is still working back from injury. Bash on him all you want, a healthy Parsons come playoff time is going to make every dollar of that max contract worth it. He is a game-changer on a team that’s a game-changer away from being elite.

The Grizzlies Outlook:

Although other teams may feel the need to bolster their rosters, I enjoy knowing that GM Chris Wallace and Coach Fizdale have faith in this roster. They’ve already proven they can beat Golden State, Houston (twice), San Antonio (no Kawhi, but still), the Clippers and Utah (three times). What else do they really need to improve?

Memphis’ offensive and defense prowess is going to lead them deep in to the playoffs.

How do I know?

Because Coach Fizz knows and what Coach Fizz knows always comes true. He’s like a new age genie.

Call me crazy, but “In Fizz We Trust” is something all Grizzlies fans should be saying right now.
