Memphis Grizzlies host Phoenix Suns in potential cage match
The Memphis Grizzlies (35-25) host the Phoenix Suns (18-41) for their third meeting of the season. The Grizzlies topped the Nuggets Sunday night in Denver.
THE GAME WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR IS FINALLY HERE. Last time these teams met, three players were ejected: Troy Daniels (MEM), Alex Len (PHO) and Tyler (Ulis).
The cause? A post-Troy-Daniels-three-pointer-smack-talking-shoving-match in the FedEx Forum.
Here’s the video:
To summarize the scuffle: Troy Daniels hit his fourth three-pointer of the game, simultaneously fouled by Suns’ sophomore guard Devin Booker. Daniels, whose evening went significantly better than Booker’s, relayed a few choice words – nuff said.
Memphis went on to win the game, 110-91.

About the Grizzlies (35-25, 18-11 home)
Memphis comes into the game following a Mike Conley led victory over the Denver Nuggets. Conley’s 30-point performance tallied his sixth of the season.
Falling short to the New Orleans Pelicans prior to the All-Star Break, coupled with a post-ASB loss to the Indiana Pacers, Memphis’ plans to extend their winning streak to two games as the playoff stretch begins.
About the Suns (18-41, 8-23 road)
An 8-23 road record speaks volumes here. The Phoenix Suns sit in last place of the Western Conference. Prior to the trade deadline, the Suns traded three-and-D forward P.J. Tucker to the Toronto Raptors for Jared Sullinger (basically a heavier Tucker) and two second-round picks.
On the bright side, this Suns team is young and boasting with potential – Devin Booker, Marqueese Chriss, Dragan Bender, Alex Len, Tyler Ulis… basically everyone except Tyson Chandler.
Unoffical Expert Betting Prediction
Ten-point spreads in the NBA are usually a decent indicator that a game may get really ugly, really quick. For that reason (and because Mike Conley is playing OUT OF HIS MIND right now), I’m taking the Grizzlies -10.
As far as the cage match goes, do you EVER bet against #GrindCity?
