The Orlando Magic had their list of free agent and trade targets leaked. There are some familiar faces from the Memphis Grizzlies.

After a confusing offseason last summer, the Orlando Magic did something that was surprisingly more stupid. As an undrafted rookie was signing a contract, there was a picture of him signing his deal, but there was a list of trade and free agent targets on the board. There are some familiar faces from the Memphis Grizzlies: Chandler Parsons and JaMychal Green.

JaMychal Green

Seeing the Magic target JaMychal Green isn’t surprising. The versatile power forward is going to attract many suitors because of his defense prowess and solid jumper.

After signing Bismack Biyombo and Jeff Green (HAHA) to absurd deals, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them wave some money to JaMychal Green.

This leak proves how hard it will be to re-sign their starting power forward.

Chandler Parsons

Ah, the man with much scrutiny. The man with game both on and off the court. The man with $94-million dollars. Chandler Parsons.

The Chandler Parsons experience hasn’t been all that pleasant so far. He averaged career-lows across the board and is out for the season with a torn meniscus.

While the Magic have been eyeing him since his Maverick days, it’s kind of surprising to see him as a trade target – given his knee problems. Are they trying to go salary-for-salary and dump Evan Fournier? Or, would they dangle a solid veteran like Terrance Ross? Or, are they willing to part ways with a young player with oodles of potential (Aaron Gordon or Mario Hezonja)?

Maybe, they pull a typical Orlando Magic move and give up this year’s lottery pick.

You never really know with the Orlando Magic!

While all this is interesting, there are two takeaways from this:

  1. Don’t get your hopes up on a Chandler Parsons deal. They paid the man over four years to be a cornerstone for this team. Three more years.
  2. Don’t leak out your strategy.
