Last night during the TNT broadcast, Charles Barkley gave Mike Conley some much needed respect.

Saturday night, Mike Conley went to toe to with Kawhi Leonard. As Kobe stated, Mike Conley and Kawhi Leonard were in that “muse cage.”

Not sure what that means exactly, but if it’s coming from Kobe, we should assume it’s a good thing.

Leonard was amazing with 43 points, three assists, and eight rebounds, but Conley played just as well.

Mike finished the night with 35 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds while shooting 56.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc.

The man was hitting clutch shots all night. Kawhi, also known as The Robot who bleeds antifreeze, knocked down a fadeaway jumper to put the Spurs up 96-94.

Well, Conley responded right back with a floater right over the head of Tony Parker to put tie the game at 96-96 with 4.5 seconds left which led to the game going into overtime.

Although Marc Gasol hit the game-winning shot and rookie Andrew Harrison saved the game with his chase down block on Patty Mills,  the Grizzlies don’t win this game without Mike Conley.

With his outstanding performance, Conley was the first Grizzlies player in franchise history with 30 points, five assists and five rebounds in a postseason game. The national media has taken full notice of Conley’s excellence:

While Conley had an outstanding season and averaged career-high’s in about every category, there are still critics who say Mike Conley isn’t worth 153 million dollar contract.

Charles Barkley had a few words to say to Mike Conley’s critics last night:

Closing Remarks

Charles Barkely has had some crazy things, but he couldn’t be more right about our “Conductor” Mike Conley.

Conley has been amazing this season. Without him, the Grizzlies don’t win Game Four against the San Antonio Spurs. Heck, without him they don’t even make the playoffs.

Mike Conley is finally receiving the respect he deserves.
