No more Mike Conley 🙁

In case you forget, one of the main pieces Conley wanted in free agency was a wing that could take pressure off him, open more driving lanes and space the floor for our Conductor. Who was the guy that Conley was talking to during free agency? That was Chandler Parsons. It’s not a coincidence that they committed to their contracts on the same day.

I’ve said this before and I will say it again, if the Memphis Grizzlies didn’t sign Chandler Parsons there would be no Mike Conley back in Memphis. The Grizzlies would be rebuilding mode, and we wouldn’t have enjoyed nights like Game 3 and Game 4 in Memphis. He would’ve gone to Dallas to play with Harrison Barnes or San Antonio to team up with Kawhi.  And oh boy, could you imagine Conley and Kawhi on the same team? I understand the argument about signing Harrison Barnes instead, but did he even want to come play for the Grizzlies? I highly doubt it.

If the Grizzlies lost Mike, all you loyal fans would still be ripping the front office for losing him. Well now, fans are just ripping the front office for signing Parsons! — Jerrod Smith (@jerrod_smith7)
