Vince Carter, also known as “The Ageless One,” turned back the clock multiple times this past season.
The 2016-2017 season was Vince Carter’s best season with the Memphis Grizzlies. Before this season, he experienced multiple injuries after signing with the Grizzlies a few years back. He had struggled in those years, but this year that all changed.
It was truly amazing to see VC turn back the clock. Not many 40-year olds can do some of the things he can do. We got to see spinning lay ups, three pointers, and even a couple dunks here and there.
With the injury of Chandler Parsons, somebody had to step up. VC rose to the occasion, but he wasn’t going to be his Raptors self. Without Vince Carter, it’s hard to picture the Grizzlies making their seventh straight playoff appearance.
Now, let’s run it down:
1. Memphis Grizzlies vs Milwaukee Bucks – 3/13/17
Vince Carter literally had a perfect game this night. He finished with 24 points on 8-for-8 shooting (6-for-6 from 3), five rebounds, two assists and three steals against the Bucks.
Honestly, could it get better any this? A perfect game.. BY A 40 YEAR OLD?!
2. Memphis Grizzlies vs Indiana Pacers – 3/29/17
21 points on 5-for-8 shooting (connecting on four of six triples), eight rebounds and a steal against the Pacers this night.
The Grizzlies absolutely dominated the Pacers, and VC was the second fiddle next to Mike Conley’s 36 points and seven 3-pointers.
Conley and VC were like MJ and Scottie this night.
3. Memphis Grizzlies vs Denver Nuggets – 11/8/16
Well, once again, another eye-opening stat line for the legend.
Against the Nuggets, he ended with 20 points, three rebounds, five assists, two blocks.
Not only does he fill up the stat line, he throws perfect game-winning passes too!
4. Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz – 11/14/16
November was just Vince Carter’s month. The Grizzlies were coming off a terrible loss to the Milwaukee Bucks and needed a spark to get their season going.
Once again, VC found a way to help the Grizzlies get moving in the right direction. The Grizzlies finished off the Jazz 102-96.
Vince Carter was the second leading scorer for the Grizz with 20 points, connecting on six of his 11 field goal attempts. He also hauled in seven rebounds and dropped two dimes.
5. Memphis Grizzlies vs Washington Wizards – 10/30/16
A lot of us know this game as the night Marc Gasol proved that he could hit 3-pointers at a high volume.
But, let’s not leave Vince Carter be some dust in the wind.
VC concluded with 18 points, draining five of his six 3-pointers. He also collected two rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.

Final Remarks
Vince Carter could or could not be with the Grizzlies next season, but no matter what, let’s appreciate what he did for the Grizzlies this season
