PF: Darko Milicic

I don’t know what’s more shocking: the fact that someone took the time out of their day to make a top 10 plays montage for Darko Milicic or that the Grizzlies paid Milicic $21,000,000 over the span of 3 years. Both are just … yikes.

Milicic will probably go down as the biggest bust in NBA history. He’ll forever be known as the guy that was drafted ahead of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade – three Hall-of-Famers.

Although he showed signs of becoming a productive player in Orlando (averages of eight points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks), he couldn’t put it together in Memphis.

After hopes of Milicic flourishing next to Pau or Marc Gasol, he just couldn’t become a starting-level center in the NBA, averaging 6.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in his two years in Memphis.

Before his contract expired, the Grizzlies traded him to the Knicks in a series of deals that led to the acquisition of Zach Randolph. An all-time bust for a franchise pillar? I’ll take that.
