No. 5: Boston Celtics

Once you have a taste of glory, you want to continue to put yourself in a situation to have it again.

Tony Allen was a key contributor on the championship-winning 2008 Celtics team. Ever since then, he has been a key part of both Celtics and Grizzlies, teams that have contended in the playoffs. No matter where he chooses to go, Tony will be on a competitive team next season.

What better place than where it all began?

The Boston Celtics could definitely use Tony Allen’s help once again next season. The Celtics struggled defensively all of last season, finishing 18th in defensive efficiency. They have plenty of solid defensive players such as Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart and Avery Bradley. However, they lack size in their backcourt with  Bradley (6’2″) and Isaiah Thomas (5’9″). Tony Allen could help bring a bigger defensive presence off the bench.

People love to see a story come full circle, and Tony Allen’s career could be a good example of that. The Celtics could definitely use Tony’s “First Team all-defense” mindset and his championship pedigree.
