  • But they have to learn to play defense to reach that level.

Defense held the Timberwolves back all of last season. They were 27th in defensive efficiency, and they struggled to hold onto leads all season.

On a roster full of youth, Tony Allen would provide veteran leadership and defense. With the additions of Jimmy Butler and Tony Allen, as well as internal growth, Minnesota would surely be in the top half of the league defensively. Tom Thibodeau also loves players who are defensive-minded, and Tony Allen would be a great fit under a coach like him.

All in all, Minnesota is a very good fit for Tony Allen. He would be part of a contending team while also getting plenty of minutes under a defensive mind like Tom Thibadeau. His tenacity would help Minnesota reach the next level.
