In light of recent free agency news and the new deal with Nike, what jerseys will the Memphis Grizzlies sell in their stores?

All the NBA apparel is about to get even more fresh. After reaching a deal with Nike, the NBA will have the iconic swoosh logo on all their gear – except the Hornets who will wear Jordan. What does that mean for the NBA? Cooler jerseys. Dri-fit polos and shirts. New shorts. You name it.

In addition, they’re doing away with traditional “home and away” jerseys. Instead, each team will have four uniforms: Association edition (white), Icon edition (team color), Athlete’s mindset and a Community one. Every fan will speculate and look at Nike concepts for “ideas” on the new-look jerseys.

In light of all this, it made me wonder: whose jerseys will the Memphis Grizzlies sell? Zach Randolph, Vince Carter and (probably) Tony Allen won’t be donning Beale Street Blue next season. All three players were fan favorites who sold jerseys. Now that they’re gone, whose jerseys will be for sale next season?

Obviously, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol will have their threads in the store. Last season, they sold Chandler Parsons jerseys, but by the end of the season, people wouldn’t even pay $20 for one.

How are they going to sell jerseys? Most Grizzly fans have Gasol and Conley jerseys, and some won’t even reach for their wallet to buy a Parsons one yet.

What other jerseys will the Grizzlies sell?

Possible Options

The Memphis Grizzlies don’t have any exciting, big-name prospects like Lonzo Ball and Markelle Fultz or legends at the end of their primes like Vince Carter on this team. Finding more threads to sell will be a challenge.

The most obvious pick is Tyreke Evans. He’s had a solid NBA career up to this point and played his college days at the University of Memphis. There’s a 99.8 percent chance that Evans jerseys will be available in the Grizz store next season.

If Mario Chalmers makes it through training camp, they’ll probably sell his jerseys. They sold the Chalmers Sounds jerseys in the 2015-16 season, and he has become a surprising fan favorite in Memphis.

If JaMychal Green returns, they could start selling his jerseys. It only makes sense, given that he would be a starter for the second year in a row.

One intriguing option is Wayne Selden. Many fans fell in love with him at the end of last season because of his tenacity and athleticism. After an explosive Summer League, the fans’ love for him has only gone up. He’s one of the few young guys who has a legitimate future on this team. Now that guys like ZBo and TA are gone, they may try to hype up Selden as an exciting prospect that embodies the Memphis culture.

The new Nike jerseys are going to be slick, and it’ll be interesting to see what’s in the Grizz Store on opening night.
