The Memphis Grizzlies will be having their training camp from September 26-29th at the FedEx Forum with an open practice for fans on the 30th.

For the 11th time since 2001, the Memphis Grizzlies will be conducting their training camp in Memphis at the FedEx Forum. The team has also hosted training camps in Spain twice plus Santa Barbara, San Diego, Birmingham and Nashville.

Training camp will open on Tuesday, September 26 and ends on Friday, September 29th. The annual Media Day will also be on Monday, September 25th. These events will be closed to the public.

This year’s training camps and preseason schedules are much shorter than previous seasons. The NBA made this move to help give teams longer breaks between games. The new schedule has fewer back to back games and, more important, fewer three games in four nights and four games in five nights stretches.

The Open Practice has become a fan favorite event. This year’s event will include appearances from the Grizz Girls and Claw Crew. There are also activities for the younger fans that are usually included as well. These could include face painting and a bounce zone, but no details have been released in that regard yet.

All fans attending the open practice will receive vouchers for a Memphis Grizzlies 2017 pre-season game and an inaugural season Memphis Hustle regular season game.

The Memphis Grizzlies season is right around the corner, and the training camp should be a good one. Between the numerous position battles and the skepticism around the first season without Zach Randolph and Tony Allen, training camp should be intriguing.
