With the latest installment of NBA 2K officially out, what position should your myPlayer play for the Memphis Grizzlies? What positions should you avoid?

NBA 2K18 is officially out, and the myCareer mode is better than ever. There’s a whole new storyline as your myPlayer is an undrafted player off the streets. You can move around to different areas of the city — almost like GTA. In the city, you can play in myPark, go to the barber shop to get a fresh chop or fulfill your endorsement deals.

It’s a fascinating idea that should put 2K on top of sports gaming franchises yet again.

In the myCareer mode, you can pick what team your myPlayer goes to. If you were to pick the Memphis Grizzlies, what positions should you play? Could you find a starting job early?

Positions to avoid

If you want to be on the Memphis Grizzlies, definitely avoid making your myPlayer a point guard or a center. With both Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, it’ll be hard for you to come off the bench and start. In addition, you wouldn’t be maximizing the potential of this team if you were to surpass them in the starting 5.

The shooting guard starting spot is open with a 73-overall-rated Ben McLemore starting. However, there’s way too many players occupying that position. They already have McLemore, Selden, Daniels and your “veteran” Shammy Wells. It won’t be the end of the world if you make your myPlayer a shooting guard for the Grizzlies, but consider the depth first.

Positions to go with

Depending on how you much dislike Chandler Parsons, playing small forward might be the move for you. The Memphis Grizzlies have Tyreke Evans starting with Chandler Parsons off the bench. If you want to abolish Parsons from NBA existence, make your myPlayer a small forward.

The ultimate myPlayer for the Memphis Grizzlies would be a power forward. Since the Grizzlies haven’t signed JaMychal Green yet, a 72-overall-rated Deyonta Davis is the starting power forward. From day one, you can snag a starting spot. Not to mention, you’d be maximizing the team’s potential when you’re on the court alongside Conley, McLemore, Evans and Gasol.

An athletic stretch-4 might be the move for your myPlayer if you want to play for the Memphis Grizzlies.
