Memphis Grizzlies MVP predictions – roundtable
Marc Gasol
Mike Conley will be the best player, but Gasol is the most valuable. Without ZBo and TA, they lost a lot of toughness and edge on the court – many call this “grit” and “grind.”
For the Memphis Grizzlies to succeed, they do need Conley to build off his strong playoffs, but “Aggressive Marc” has to come to play in all 82 games and in the postseason. The former Defensive Player of the Year is the key in keeping this defense in the league’s upper-echelon. In addition, his evolving offensive game is crucial for the Grizzlies. When he went on his tear in December, he looked like a bonafide 1st team All-NBA player and was the anchor for a team sported the best defensive rating in that month.
Aggressive Marc, we need you. Put Passive Marc to rest. — Parker Fleming (@PAKA_FLOCKA)
It all starts with Marc. Marc Gasol has to be the best version of himself for the Grizzlies to reach their potential. If he disappears like he did in the San Antonio series, the Grizzlies will not beat anybody. — Nathan Chester (@BigNateChester)
