As we finish up our award prediction roundtable series, who’s going to win this year’s NBA MVP award? Find out what our writers say.

The MVP award has featured great races. James Harden made Steph (2015) and Russ (2017) work for their awards. Kobe Bryant averaged 35 points a game and still lost MVP in 2006 to Steve Nash.

It’s a narrative that’s fascinating. What does MVP mean?

Does it go to the best player in the league? Should it go to the best team’s best player? Does it go to the player with the best stats? Are wins truly a factor?

No one really knows.

This year’s race should be fascinating since two of the top candidates for the award got superstar help. Kyrie Irving is now on a new team which should strength his and LeBron’s chances of MVP. A star could emerge out of nowhere to make the race interesting.

Anything is possible.

Check out what our writers say about their MVP picks.
