As we begin the season, let’s evaluate each player on the Memphis Grizzlies. Will Chandler Parsons bounce back this year?
After an extremely disappointing season, Chandler Parsons looks and feels ready to have a bounce back year and shut some critics up. This is all because he finally had a full offseason to commit himself to the game. He has worked hard all summer to make sure he is 100% percent healthy and ready to go when the season starts. He even laid off social media when it came to what he was doing with his free time, but when he did post on social media, it was nothing but him dropping buckets. The video below shows:
His role with this team is to play the 3, but at 6’10, Fizdale can use him as a stretch 4. With the re-signing of JaMychal Green, it looks like we will see Parsons start at the 3, along side Mike, Selden or Evans, JaMychal and Marc.
Having Parsons on the outside allows the offense to work four out, one in with either Marc or JaMychal posting up. If he’s able to come back and hit outside shots, it’ll keep teams from playing off of him. In addition, it allows guys like Mike, Tyreke and Marc to play one-on-one with their defenders without concerns of a potential double-team.
How can Chandler bounce back this season?
Chandler can bounce back this season by focusing on himself and what he is doing on the court and not listening to the outside talk.
The Memphis Grizzlies gave him a big contract for a few reasons: to score, help facilitate and be the third fiddle alongside Gasol and Conley.
Parsons can play a big role in how well the offense flows. Being able to shoot the outside shot, drive and pull up and dish to the post, he’s another playmaker in this lineup. A healthy Parsons makes like a lot easier for Conley, as he doesn’t always have to bring the ball down if both of them are on the floor together.
If Parsons can come out the gate and contribute to this team on both sides of the ball, Memphis fans will quickly fall in love with him.

Expectations
I expect Chandler to bounce back in a huge way for the Memphis Grizzlies this season.
Staying healthy is the only thing that can hold him back from having another disappointing season. With a full offseason to work on his game, Chandler looks ready to compete and keep this team a playoff-contending squad. Fans will finally fall in love with him, and he’ll finally silence all of the doubters.
