With the Memphis Grizzlies’ season approaching, some of the Beale Street Bears staff share their bold predictions for the year.

You know how it is. Whenever someone’s says “hot take,” they’re automatically an expert on the subject.

That’s what we’re going to do today with the Memphis Grizzlies.

With new faces, no one knows what’s going to happen with them. Are they going to be a casualty of a revamped brutal Western Conference? Or are they going to continue their playoff run? Will some young players finally flourish as rotation players? Or will their depth be paper thin?

If you look at this roster, it’s mightily intriguing as they actually have a modern NBA look. However, it revolves around the if healthy narrative. Marc Gasol and Mike Conley are All-Star players but have to stay healthy for the Grizz to compete. If Chandler Parsons, Tyreke Evans and Mario Chalmers are healthy and at least 70 percent of their peak, they’re a boost to this team as secondary playmakers. Brandan Wright has been plagued with injuries for the past two seasons but can give this team legitimate rim protection off the bench — something they lacked with Zach Randolph.

With the season rolling through, what are some bold predictions for the season? Some of the staff gave their takes, and you might be surprised.
