The Memphis Grizzlies dropped the ball on another first-round draft pick. Now that Wade Baldwin is off the team, let’s look at who they should’ve picked.

At the time, Wade Baldwin might have been the right pick for the Memphis Grizzlies. Now, it’s evident that it wasn’t at all.

Baldwin was released yesterday as the Grizzlies have now moved on from another first-round pick after their rookie season — fourth occurrence since 2010.

Now, it’s time for speculation. A simple game of “should have’s” and “could have’s.” A classic what-if scenario.

The 2016 NBA draft certainly wasn’t one for the books. There just wasn’t many standout rookies this past season. While some players could develop to All-Stars, there are many prospects who could become high-end role players and NBA starters.

Who should have the Grizzlies picked instead of Baldwin? Did these picks seem better at the time? Would they fit with the current roster makeup?
