You won’t be able to hear the person next to you because of the 18,000 maniacs causing a frenzy. The rally towel is always essential in the playoffs of any sport. However, in Memphis, the “growl towel” holds so much more significance. The yellow cloth sports a slogan that’s not only a marketing tool, but an embodiment of the city.

Memphis has rallied around the “blue-collar” players. We’ve seen guys like Zach Randolph and Tony Allen elsewhere. No one embraced them more than Memphis. Others may criticize the organization for retiring their jerseys, but it’s a Memphis thing. They just wouldn’t understand.
