Jarell Martin has been a fine story for the Memphis Grizzlies over the past month. He survived through training camp, after chirps of him being on the way out. Then, after an opening night injury to JaMychal Green, he’s filled in as the starting power forward.

We’ve seen glimpses of how good he could be. On offense, he has bounce and handle, but he needs to improve on his efficiency. He’s had good defensive outings (five blocks against Dallas on 10/26), but he fouls way too often and gets destroyed in the pick-and-roll.

Despite this, it might be fair to assume that Jarell Martin will be — and is currently — better than JaMychal Green.
