Martin is the better athlete and the quicker player. His only need is the experience of Green to show he’s a far more capable player.

The question is, will he get the time once Green returns? Memphis is in win-now mode (like they are every season it seems), and the team can’t wait for Martin to develop with playing time. Green is more ready to contribute on a nightly basis, but that doesn’t make him the better player. Green is just the more experienced option.
Give Martin 2-3 months as a starter, and people will understand why Wallace wanted him in the draft. Barring injury to Parsons or Green, will he get that experience? — Chip Crain (@chipc3)
