With injuries to both Wayne Selden and Ben McLemore, Dillon Brooks has made the most out of his opportunity. However, how long will that opportunity remain for him?

So far in his young NBA career, Dillon Brooks has distinguished himself as one of the few draft steals in the Memphis Grizzlies’ franchise history. His arrival on opening night was met with much fanfare, as he scored 19 points as well as having an impact on the defensive end. His combination of scoring, playmaking, and defense have been a huge boost to both the bench and starting lineup.

It also doesn’t hurt that I predicted that he was going to be good back in the summer.

Despite his solid play, there’s a very real chance that his minutes will be reduced once Wayne Selden and Ben McLemore return from their respective injuries. Selden distinguished himself as the alpha of the Grizzlies’ summer league team. McLemore has pedigree, and many believe that he could flourish in David Fizdale’s system.

Will Fizdale reduce Brooks’ minutes once the other two players return? Or perhaps –get ready for this spicy hot take — take Brooks out of the rotation entirely?
